Pet Boarding: What to Look for

When planning the annual holiday abroad, we mustn’t forget our four-legged family member, who relies on us to feed and offer shelter. Of course, there are kennels and catteries and a Google search can bring you a list of websites offering pet boarding, which is a good place to start.

Here are a few things to look for when souring a pet boarding facility.

  • Registered business – It is important that the pet boarder is registered with the government, something that should be on their website. This tells you that they have qualified staff and acceptable conditions for the animals, which gives you peace of mind.
  • Customer reviews – Just like most businesses, a cattery in Swindon would publish customer reviews and reading these will remove any fears you may have had. Let’s face it, you’re not just looking for a place where your cat will be safe, you want your pet to enjoy the experience and when carers are animal lovers, it really shows.
  • Inspect the facility – If the website looks good and all the right signs are there, the next step is to arrange a visit, which allows you to get a feel of the place. Prepare a few questions and the more they know about your pet, the better and if all is good, you can make a booking and they will be ready.

It is important that we are sure about the facility that is hosting our cat or dog, then we can enjoy our holiday while our pet enjoys theirs.
